Antonia is a genius woman. She thinks very quick on her feet and is creative in finding ways to keep her guests safe. Her use of quick action to play a certain song on the piano warns her guests to take hiding when Nazis come near the villa. The war is traumatizing to everyone, even to guests who remain unharmed in the zoo. The guests may never be able to hear the same song Antonia plays to hide her guests without jumping or quivering in fear.
Chapter 20 brings a more upsetting tone than before surprisingly, but it sounds like the story is about to unfold. I feel like some of the previous chapters composed of too much irrelevant information. Anyhow the story plot picks up when the Underground is sent an encrypted message.
