The Canadian economy started booming after the great depression occurred. A significant decline in many branches of Canada’s industry began after the Second World War through the reconversion of the lack of demand for war supplies. The decline was so significant that it affected the main economic indicators of the state. In 1945, the decline in industrial production amounted to 12% and in 1946 it was 7%. But at the same time, the unexpected growth occurred in the woodworking, paper, textile and food industries, in the years of war evolved slowly. At the state level, the question of reconversion and reconstruction were solved at the Federal-provincial conference held in 1945-1946.The main decisions taken at the conference, were the lifting of economic policy in wartime and the reduction of state. Overall, the Canadian economy in the after war period was driven by several factors: there was a massive economic effect impact on the Canadian population resulting from people buying many new items. World war 1 lead to a huge increase in Canada’s developement from fighting in world war 2. Canada benefited by having great success as well as recognition from other countries because they had contributed to the military in a well mannered way. Canada became an international leader, being looked up to by many other countries. More and more people wanted to learn more in detail about Canada because of its great success in world war 2. For example, Canada’s success was shown through being apart of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), where there contribution was recognized on January 1st 1943.
