The first difference in these two book I found was To Be a Slave provides more accounts of slaves than it does in Slavery and the Making of America. In the other book, there are still slave accounts as well as others, but the majority of the book is not made up of these accounts. The second difference I found was that the book included more examples of slave rebellions such as the Stono Rebellion in South Carolina and the Amistead rebellion aboard the ship. The next difference I found was that the authors of Slavery and The Making of America, included more information about Thomas Jefferson by that in the first draft of the historic document, The Declaration of Independence, Jefferson originally wrote a section that blamed Britain for introducing slavery to the United States of America. The section was eventually removed in the final draft because his other slaveholders forced him
