Fen grabbed her crossbow and shot at the elite to help protect herself and her son and missed her shot by a couple inches, yet, it was enough to scare off the elite. The elites had too much power and the corrupt government was taxing the poor and not the rich, also, the flu started to develop in Chen and he didn’t even know it. “Mommy, I’m shivering,” Chen exclaimed.
“Oh my,” you have the flu. “You’re going to be extremely sick.”
The disease was coming through the silk road but mysteriously Chen got a peculiar disease.
“We must get you to the hospital,” Fen replied.
Fen and Chen went to the hospital and they weren’t rich enough to sustain any form of transportation, so Fen was forced to carry Chen. On their way to the hospital people saw the poor and sick family and they started walking away like the disease was rapidly contagious. It wasn’t fair all the elites had to pay only 1/5th of what the poor had to pay.
“Hey, I have your son cured. Where are my crops?” The medic exclaimed realizing that there were no crops.
“Can I give you 5 of my camels?” Fen said knowing the camels were already going to die soon.
“Make it quick.” The doctor exclaimed. “I don’t have all day.”
Fen gave the doctor the camels and he left. They had nothing to enter their digestion system anymore which meant they would starve. on top of food, they also had to pay high taxes.
The water levels were rising and water kept flowing over the land taking out all the crops. Fen and Chen were stuck in the house and had nothing to eat and were supposed to pay taxes. Providentially, no one was out, not even the horse riders or the traders due to the high water. Also, with the water came food. The markets were flooded and food was flown out of them and much of the food drifted toward their house.
