According to our 2014 Community Assessment Update Report, Clay County has the highest poverty rate among all of the eight counties served in Georgia. Nearly 47.7% of the population (or 1,452 individuals) are living in poverty. The assessment revealed that approximately 624 children (birth to 19 years old) are living in poverty. The same data source also revealed that 483 families/households received Food Stamps and 29 families/households received TANF during any one month throughout the year.
