Robin Williams attended Claremont Men's College and College of Marin before enrolling at the Juilliard School in New York City. He later experimented with comedy and developed a successful stand-up act. He also done work on some shows and because of many successful roles his talents caught a lot of attention with his ability to take on serious work and to be hilarious in other work.

He divorced his first wife Valerie Velardi after having a relationship with another women and the following year married his son’s nanny, Marsha Garces. Later He developed a drug and alcohol problem while working on a sitcom and would struggle with addiction for more than two decades. He got ill while touring for his one-man stand-up comedy show, Weapons of Self Destruction. In March 2009 Williams began to experience shortness of breath and ended up going into heart surgery.
Throughout all his challenges he never gave up on his carriers. While he was recovering from his heart surgery he was still acting and finished the movie Night at the Museum where he played Teddy Roosevelt.
On August 11, 2014 he was 63 when he was found dead in his home. His publicist released this statement: “Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late...” the reports stated that Robin Williams’ life ended from asphyxia due to hanging.
