1. Keep strong morals and values, but realize sometimes, at the right time and in the right place, they could be violated. There will always be bad people doing worse things in this world, and that, no matter how hard we work towards it, will not be changed. Sometimes morals have to come into check for survival and the greater good. On September 10th, 2001 a young man of the age of 23 may have had strong beliefs on the killing of another person and violence as a whole. Just a day later when he signed up for the military his views may have been influenced greatly. We can assume that the violence would not have stopped after 9-11 if we had not retaliated back with another act of violence. This can be paralleled with Curly and Linnie in Of Mice and Men. Curly took an act of violence towards Linnie, hitting him in the face repeatedly, where most likely Curly would not have stopped if there was not a retaliation of equal or greater violence. Sometimes it is necessary to fight fire with fire, but with saying that it is extremely important to know your boundaries and to know when it is appropriate and for the greater good of yourself or others.
