Some scholars believed that having a mental illness is because of mood disorders and certain possession cultures that are not acceptable. The mystic ritual is based on this that means that it requires several religious ceremonies to relieve an individual from such a case. Other Greek experts on mental illness believed that all the ills emanated from out of balance humor in their bodies. He further noted that the internal biochemical relationships were the cause of the disorders. Therefore, they believed that vomiting, bleeding, and purging are the correct doses to help correct the imbalances. The patients with mental disorders are always disturbing, and they cause a lot of problems in the society because of the increased mental disturbances. These patients require a safe place where they can relax away from the family members to rest for increased gain of sense and normality. Several experts required that mental illness patients become an inpatient to a facility, such that they cannot cause harm to the other people in the society, as they are not normal. Many people suggest that there are increased cases of violence from psychological patients, and thus it is important for them to be quarantine (Rabinowitz, Mark, Popper & Feldman, 1997).

There were conditions that require the mental cases placed in a facility, because of the complexity of the problem this person may have. Some patients have gone through operations like cutting the hole in the skull as a treatment.
