1. Discuss the primary function of a project plan.
According to the Project Management Book of Knowledge, the project plan is "...a formal, approved document used to guide both project execution and project control. The primary uses of the project plan are to document planning assumptions and decisions, facilitate communication among stakeholders, and document approved scope, cost, and schedule baselines. A project plan may be summarized or detailed."

5) Assumptions-This section outlines the assumptions that went into the project, for example managers will make all required team members available for the project.
6) Constraints-This section lays out the limits on the project, for example the budget is not unlimited. This section may also reveal other projects that may be related in some way. For example, to install the database it may also be necessary to install the storage system first. Finally this section should also explain critical constraints. These are constraints that can result in the premature closure of the project, for example if all of the funding is suddenly removed.
