26. In point form list four ways in which photosynthesis and cellular respiration and interdependent. Include the specific stages and molecules for both processes in your answers.
1. The glucose formed during the Calvin cycle in photosynthesis by some G3P molecules breaking off is used to release ATP during cellular respiration.
2. The splitting of water during the light reactions of photosynthesis in Photosystem II produces oxygen that releases into the air as carbon dioxide. The oxygen from this is used in glycolysis which is the first stage of cellular respiration as it combines oxygen and glucose.
3. Oxygen is a by-product of photosynthesis which is used as a final electron acceptor in aerobic respiration in cellular respiration.

How can diet and exercise affect your overall rate of metabolism? Conduct additional research to answer each of the following questions in your own words (do not copy and paste from your research sources):
a. How much energy per gram is in each of the three main nutrients (fat, carbohydrate, and protein)? There are 17kJ (4 kcal) of energy per gram of carbohydrates, 17kJ (4kcal) of energy per gram of protein and 37kJ (9 kcal) of energy per gram of fat.
b. How is the intake of high-fat food related to metabolism? Consuming high-fat food can cause affect the livers metabolism and influence how the body stores body fat. Food high in unsaturated fat also can make a person more prone to developing type 2 diabetes, or develop issues with metabolizing glucose.
c. How is increasing exercise related to metabolism?
Increasing exercise increases metabolism because as you build muscle these muscle cells burn calories. These cells burn more calories than fat cells, even after exercising. Having an increased muscle tone will increase your metabolism since the muscle cells will continue to burn calories throughout the day. Although exercise will slightly increase your metabolism by replacing fat cells with muscle cells, it does not increase your basal metabolic rate, therefore individuals still need to watch their food intake to stay

I’m aware that all exercise is not created equal and this is where aerobic and anaerobic exercise come in. Although the two may differentiate, both burn fat as well as boost metabolism. During aerobic exercise, oxygen is carried through our breath to the muscles giving them sufficient intake of energy needed to sustain long periods of light activity without needing to take energy from another source. During anaerobic exercise, there is no oxygen being carried to the muscles, therefore these activities occur over shorter periods of time. The demand on the muscles causes the muscles to break down sugars, resulting in higher lactic acid production.…

Demonstration of Cellular Respiration Inside Lima Beans Cells in Vitro Purpose: Cellular respiration is a series of metabolic reactions that take place in the mitochondria and produce chemical energy in the form of ATP by the breakdown of food molecules. There are three processes involved in cellular respiration; glycolysis, the Krebs cycle and the electron transport chain. During this processes, glucose is oxidized by a series of redox reactions and its electrons and hydrogen ions are donated to two electron carriers called NAD+ and FAD.…

Green plants are multicellular, autotrophic eukaryotes. They use their roots to absorb nutrients and water from the soil. “Fast Plants are a type of crucifer (a large group of plants that includes mustard, radish, cabbage, and more) that have been bred and selected to have a uniform, short flowering time (14 days) and grow well under in a small indoor space, with little soil, under artificial lights”(The Story of Fast Plants). Wisconsin fast plant are plants that grow at a very high speed rate. Their scientific name is Brassica rapa.…

The metabolic rate is the rate at which metabolism occurs in a living organism. Whereas Body mass is the body size of a living organism. This lab indicated the smaller the living organism is, the higher the metabolic rate. This is due to the smaller animal displacing heat at a higher rate than a larger animal.…

Photosynthesis Pine Needle Lab Karthik Ravishankar Rock Ridge High School Background Information Photosynthesis is the process by which plants use water, carbon dioxide, and sunlight and turn it into glucose with a byproduct of oxygen in the chloroplast. Chloroplast is located in the cell membrane of a plant cell. Inside the chloroplast, there are small disks called thylakoids which are located in the stroma of the chloroplast. Stacks of thylakoid cells are called granum. Photosynthesis consists of a Light Dependent Reaction and the Calvin Cycle.…

Photosynthesis Photosynthesis is the process by which plants, algae, and various bacteria’s are used to capture energy from sunlight into chemical energy (Vidyasagar). This is very important process because it will then use the glucose, which will be used by cellular respiration to make ATP. The ATP will then be used to fuel all living organisms. Photosynthesis has two processes a light dependent reaction and the light independent reaction.…

Hyper metabolism is the physiological state in which the metabolic activity of body is increased and also an abnormal increase in basal metabolic rate is also seen with it. The basal metabolic rate controls functions like breathing and maintaining warmth of body. When basal metabolic rate increases, weight loss can occur sometimes. The increased body metabolism state can show some underlying issues for example fatal insomnia or hyperthyroidism. Normally hypermetabolism occurs after an injury or burn to the body.…

Determining The Process of Photosynthesis And Cellular Respiration Using Elodea and Yeast Introduction Photosynthesis is an essential process to life on earth, in which plants and other organisms use sunlight to create food from oxygen, and carbon dioxide. Cellular respiration is when energy in food is released and converted to ATP, which is then used as chemical energy to complete tasks within a cell. This process usually requires oxygen and releases carbon dioxide. Photosynthesis and cellular respiration are similar in some areas and different in others. The purpose of both of the process is to produce energy, but they have different ways of achieving this goal.…

I think that it's important for coaches, physical educators and fitness professionals to have a basic understanding of energy metabolism because it's important for athletes to have a good diet so that they can produce enough ATP to make their muscles contract. The food we eat turns into ATP. ATP is the main source our muscles need for muscle contraction. If an athlete's muscles don’t have the correct amount of nutrients the athlete may have difficulties performing a sport. For example, when an athlete come with concerns to the coach about not having enough energy to perform.…

Introduction Photosynthesis is the process in which light energy is converted into chemical energy in plants and other organisms (Reece, 2011). Photosynthesis is a redox reaction where carbon dioxide is reduced to sugar (glucose) and water is oxidized to oxygen (Reece, 2011). The reaction that occurs during photosynthesis is shown through the empirical equation CO2 + H2O → (CH2O)N + O2 (Stegenga, 2015). Photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplasts of plant cells, specifically within the thylakoid and the stroma (Stegenga, 2015).…
