In their article, “Organizational Development in a Law Enforcement Environment,” French and Stewart identify that law enforcement agencies have a difficult task of making organizational changes. This is due to the fact that within the chain of command, the power is at the top as in a Chief of Police (2001). In addition, the nature and diversity of the work makes it difficult to make organizational changes. In this article, the task of organizational development was reviewed within the Florida Department of Insurance, Treasury, and Fire Marshal’s Division of Fraud (DIF).
