Competing with eight candidate including Harold Lawson for the Lieutenant position was a challenge itself. Mr. Lawson is quit pro-active with the Zenith Fire Department and with IAFF Local 768 whereas Norm Crosby was more reserve and quiet but well committed to do a great job with his department. He was in my own opinion relying too much on his experience with the ZFD to get a promotion. Looking at the ratio of Rewards and Investments in the “Adam’s and Homan’s Theory” let’s say for instance that Firefighter A is Norm Crosby and Firefighter B is Harold Lawson and I apply the ratio mention above. According to the biography of both individuals, I truly believe that Mr. Lawson had an advantage on Norm Crosby in regards of Rewards (salary, status, privileges) and Investments (years of education, hours of works, projects successfully completed)
