The NJCAA has had a huge impact on the leadership of collegiate athletics through academic and athletic opportunities for the student-athletes. The National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) has done a remarkable job in providing eligibility criteria that demand institutional and student accountability. The eligibility criteria is highlighted with the exclusive right for the student-athletes to be part of a unique demographic of 525 schools, separated into 24 regions, and three divisions such as I, II, and III. The geographic location of the institution is how each conference is aligned. However, the NJCAA guarantees each member college 's membership within the regional structure of the association. In addition to participating within an equitable environment, while creating opportunities for gaining a career from a two-year institution. In addition, to hands on experiences, obtaining educational objectives increases the opportunity to enhance the ability of the student-athletes going to a two year college. On the other hand, promoting of fair and even playing fields is beneficial in creating a healthy environment for the student athletes. The NJCAA prohibits strict discrimination, race, disability and gender biased actions from the student-athletes (Mission, 2016). Organizing the new strategic plan highlights the understanding of the “Unified pursuit of excellence”. The Unified pursuit of excellence contains objectives that highlight the Educational Opportunities, Data Research, National Standards & Accountability, Competition Structure Marketing, and Branding & Promotion of the NJCAA (Mission, 2016). Each of the “NJCAA Regions appoint two directors to serve on the association’s board of directors and national committees; regions also appoint two assistant directors that are also available to serve on national committees” (NJCAA Regions, 2016). Each has a specific duty, whether it is media relations, sports information, marketing, senior administrator for eligibility, compliance, general information, enforcement, and membership programs (Board of Directors, 2016). The NJCAA is divided into “a district that varies per sport and is formulated every two years under the authority of the association 's board of directors” (Board of Directors, 2016). Within the Board of Directors, each of the six districts that are composed of Presidential Representatives of four regions mandatory district they oversee, plus one full-time President.
