Therefore, my early love for God was really just an emotional feeling and not the commitment love that God desires. That was really eye- opening for me because I know God created man with some basic needs: the need to be loved and the need to love. Our need "to be loved" can only be fulfilled by our knowing that God loves us with unconditional and forever love. This is what gives us our security and our identity in this life. Our need "to love" can be fulfilled only by our learning to love God and others in the way that He desires. This is what will give our lives the meaning and purpose that we are all searching for.
Us as Christian need to be humble also, in our attitude and actions toward God and others. As Proverbs 22:4 states that “Humility and the fear of the Lord bring wealth and honor and life”. Along with that James 4:10 says “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” When we come to Christ as sinners, we must come in humility. We acknowledge that we are sinners and beggars who come with nothing to offer Him but our sin and our need for salvation. We then recognize our lack of excellence and our complete inability to save ourselves. Then when He offers the grace and mercy of God, we accept it in humble gratitude and commit our lives to Him and to others.
Being biblical humble is not just necessary to get into the kingdom of God, but also to be GREAT in the kingdom. We can take Jesus as our model, where it says in Mark 10:45 “ For even the Son of…
