As a toddler, Monsters Inc. taught me not to judge things or people without giving them a chance. Within the movie, fear and bias based on that fear drives the chaos that occurs. In the monster world, their society trains them to believe that humans are dangerous and evil, however they lacked experience involving interactions with humans, aside from scaring children in their sleep. By creating this fear, they establish a bias against humans, closing their mind off to sympathizing or understanding humans.
