The modernism in European countries was introduced in the readings of Frampton and Futagawa, Hitchcock and Kostof. Beginning with the reading by Frampton and Futagawa, it was about the evolution of modernism in main European countries from 1919 to 1939 and the presentation of eight notable buildings selected by the authors for better illustration of the impact of modernism. The authors believed that modern architecture has played a prominent role in the process of societal modernization and it was a combination of modern and traditional building techniques.
