Khan took control over the Tatars and formed himself an army out of them they kept pushing eastward into russia and dominating different places and taking over. After Khan gathered up all the tatars he then moved eastward as he was moving eastward before Marco Polo joined the expedition Khan realized that he had so many people in his army that he would need to split up and dedicate for some people to lead groups of 300-400 soldiers armed with weapons and armor of that day in age. Prior to Chingis Khan taking over the tartus a man named prestor john ruled them he was a christian man. The tatars were dwelling in the Northern countries of Jorza and Bargu. The geography of this place was very good there was extensive plains, good pasture, large rivers and plenty of water. Prester John taxed the Tatars yearly by requesting cattle, gold and other various items that would help him. The Tatars really did not like him but they abided by his ruling. The tartars were very proud that Prester was not around and they were happy to be ruled by someone who was considered of integrity, great wisdom, commanding eloquence and eminent of his valor. He was highly respected by the Tartars, he was beloved by them. The fame of Khan and his good qualities soon spread all over the world, the tartars all displaced and placed themselves under his ruling.
