As the name reflects, To Kill a Mockingbird, in which a mockingbird is used as a symbol for an innocent people who never create a trouble for anyone. These innocent people are like a mockingbird that just sings a song and pleases others. In the novel the author symbolizes Boo Radley and Tom Robinson as mocking birds because both the characters are unimpeachable, but still both have to face the unpleasing facts present in the society. Like unwanted incident happens with Tom Robinson, who traps in a false rape case by a white man Bob Ewell but the white jury favors the Bob Ewell and gives a decision against Tom Robinson. In the article “Boo Radley Comes Out”, the author shares that, “In court he proves his client 's innocence, but the jury convicts the Negro anyway; and when he tries to escape, a guard shoots him dead” (“Boo Radley Comes Out”109). So, because of racism Atticus loses the case of Mr. Robinson and when he Mr. Robinson gets frustrated he tries to escape and during which he lose his life. Author Daniels in his article “Harper Lee’s Loving-Kindness” also shares his painful feeling for Mr. Robinson as, “But if he was trying to escape, why shoot him seventeen times rather than once or twice in die leg? This is not melodrama, alas; this is social reality” (Daniels 4). Moreover, an innocent person loses his life because of injustice; such action proves an existence of the racism in the Maycomb town.
