John Steinbeck's The Grapes Of Wrath

John Steinbeck was born in 1902 in Salinas, California and lived through the Great Depression which heavily influenced his writing. The Great Depression was a tragedy that resulted in many Americans being out of work .Though the Great Depression was tragic to many as it ruin many people life .That wasn’t the case for John Steinbeck the Great Depression offered him a lot of things to write about like rural labor, economic problems, and social problems. Living during the Great Depression were Horrible for Migrant Workers. Doing this hard time migrant workers left their towns and went to Central and Southern California .John Steinbeck himself lived in Salinas, an area to which many people moved, looking for a better life .Since he was around to view this hardship he began writing a series for the San Francisco News called ‘’Harvest Gypsies,’’ The Grapes of Wrath was developed from this. …show more content…

This story helped to clarify on the suffering and pain that people went through .John Steinbeck helped to educate people about the difficulties of the Dust Bowl and Great Depression based on his novel.
