John Steinbeck was an American novelist. Steinbeck went to college at the University of Stanford but soon realized it wasn’t for him after he dropped out in the year 1925, with no degree. Steinbeck began to worked manual labor for a little while. John wrote his first novel in 1929, and was called Cup of Gold. John had written many novels in his life such as Tortilla Flat in 1935, that novel was more of a humorous novel. In the next year he had wrote his next novel but this one had more of a serious theme to it, Dubious Battle. Steinbeck had also written a few short stories in his career that were called, Of Mice and Men and The Long Valley in the years 1937-2938.
