Janet Yellen Essay

Janet L. Yellen is the first female chair of the United States Federal Reserve. The most powerful, central bank in the planet. She is a steadfast policy maker with a thoughtful and careful approach. Shes reknown for being common collected under pressure and curicurism. Janet is born in 1946 in Broklyn New York her father is a Doctor, her mother a School teaher. In 1959 Janet attends Fort Hamilton High School in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. She collects rocks. In 1963 Yellen graduates High School as valed victorian in class scoler. She attends Brown University, and womens collage. She plans to study philosophy, she later swiches to economics. In 1967 Yellen graduates from Brown University. In 1977 Yellen surves as an economist with the Federal Reserve Board of governers. She mets fellow economist George A. Akerlof they married the next year and become life long calaberaters. In 1978 Yellen rejoins acadamia coming a lecture at the London School of economics, and later University of California Brookly. She reserves 2 excellnt in teahimg awards. In 1994 after years of teaching Yellen takes leave from UC Brookly to surve on the Federal Rerserve Board governers. Under Allan Greenspan she argues for more Fed transperency. In 1997 Yellen serves in the white house councel of economic advisors under President Clinton. She helps the President formulate his economic polocies. In 2004 Yellen heads back to the Bay area this time to become President of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. In 2005 Yellen feels uneasy aboout the U.S housing market. Saying," The housing sector represents a risk to the U.S outlook." In 2008 after she calls for the Fed to act preamtivly to protect the economy.
