Is John Steinbeck's Relationship Important In The Novel Of Mice And Men

John Steinbeck did a wonderful job writing Of Mice and Men. I really enjoyed reading this book, and learning just a little bit more about what it was like back then. I don’t know much about the time period back then, so reading this novel gave me some ideas as to what people went through during this time. It also gave me some ideas as to what kind of relationships they had back then, and how important relationships actually are. Steinbeck did an amazing job of describing how the relationships worked back then during The Great Depression. Relationships are a main theme shown in this novel, respect is another main theme shown in the novel Of Mice and Men. Relationships are an important theme shown in the novel, Of Mice and Men, they also played a big role during The Great Depression. There were a couple examples of good relationships in this novel. One of them was the relationship that George, and Lennie had. They were a prime example of a good relationship because, Lennie takes care of George. Respect plays a big role in this novel, as to how people treat you, and how much money you make. Steinbeck did a fascinating job adding respect into the novel, and showing how it played a huge role during The Great Depression. There is a huge amount of respect shown towards Slim. He is kind of the leader of the team, he takes control and makes sure that things get done. Candy has also shown a great deal of respect by the other workers, and this has to do with his old age. It is nice that they show such respect for him, especially since he lost one of his hands.
