Women’s bodies and the processes they undergo have been monitored and labelled by the male dominated medical community as maladies that must be treated. This misinterpretation of natural biological processes women experience as they progress through life are still wrongfully contended with today. Every woman has the right to complete health as defined by the, “Fourth World Conference of Women in Beijing, the Ontario Women 's Health Council when they defined women 's health as "a state of emotional, social, cultural, spiritual and physical well-being, determined by social, political and economic context of women 's lives as well as biology.” Further clarifying this definition, they, “recognizes the validity of women 's life experiences and women 's own beliefs and experiences of health." Additionally, the phrasing implemented to educate physicians, encompasses the breadth of women’s health and well-being in that, "women 's health recognizes the importance of the study of gender differences...recognizes the diversity of women 's health needs over a life cycle and how these needs reflect differences in race, class, ethnicity, culture, sexual preferences, and levels of education and access to medical care; includes the empowerment of all women, as for all patients, to be informed participants in their own health care." …show more content…
Women must implement both power and authority in striving toward securing positions of leadership at governmental levels. More and more countries around the world are allowing women to take a leading role in guiding their nations, particularly those that lean toward socialist viewpoints. Although incorporating women into politics has occurred more at a local level, through school boards and city councils, over the past forty years, America has seen a significant rise in females being elected to national offices. Moreover, the Supreme Court has made notable progression with the respective appointing of Sandra Day O’Connor which in turn led the way for Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan to join the ranks of the elite national justices. Momentum has been building and continues to build, starting with women who have fought for the right to vote, and leading to women seeking recognition as viable leaders whether at a local, national, or international level. Continued support for women in government is imperative if improvement of women’s issues is to be made. As we move into the twenty first century I am hopeful that within my lifetime the United States will see a female
