Essay I Am Accepted Into The Graduate Program

First and foremost, I want to be accepted into the graduate program here at UCM. I was homeschooled up until college and there are positives and negatives to that decision; however, one positive for sure would be that I was able to take college courses my senior year, which enabled me to have a head start in college. Originally I was a communications major, which I did not really enjoy; therefore, I tried to get through the program as quickly as possible, which led to me take summer classes each semester. As I’m sitting here writing this, this is the first semester since I’ve come to UCM that I have not had classes. All in all I was going to graduate in three years with an undergraduate degree. Then I noticed the dual degree option. Essentially the choice became, graduate in three years with a undergraduate degree, or graduate in four years with a master’s degree. I thought about it for a while, but something that really sealed my interest would be a conversation I had with one of my girlfriend’s brothers. He had recently started a master’s program for business. I asked him how it was going and he said that he had to drop out because he was too busy having a full time job, wife, and two kids. I basically have no responsibility right now. Therefore, if there were ever a time I could devote to getting a master’s degree it would be now.
