At the age of 14, I took an interest in wanting to help people. I wanted to be that person that made sure everyone got what they deserved in life. That’s when I knew that I wanted to study law and pursue a career as an attorney. I recently decided that I wanted to become a judge. I chose this field because the criminal justice system is not the way it should be. The Affluenza case and the Brock Turner case really motivate me to want to make sure people like this do not get off because of the privileges they receive in life. I chose Sam Houston State University for receiving my education because it is a highly ranked college in the field of criminal justice. A degree from this accredited university will assist me in reaching the goals I have set for myself. …show more content…
I also plan to join the Law, Engagement, and Politics Center here at Sam Houston so that I may use their services in order to prepare for the next step in obtaining my licensure for practicing law. Following graduation, I want to go on to law school where I will pass the American Bar Association’s exam and obtain my Juris Doctor degree. My professional goal following receiving my bachelor's degree is to ultimately become a judge. After obtaining my licensure as a lawyer, I plan to join a law firm in Houston or Dallas and begin working to help correct the injustices of this criminal justice system. As a lawyer, I hope to aid victims in getting the justice and closure that they deserve. After working at law firm for a number of years, I plan to apply for judgeship and further my career in criminal
