Mallard when she has freedom. She sees life differently, she sees what the future holds for her. Mrs. Mallard sees life differently now that she has the freedom.'' She could see in the open square before her house the top of the trees that were all aquiver with new spring life''( Chopin, 4). The ''open'' illustrates the freedom Mrs. Mallard has. The ''new spring life'' Shows Mrs. Mallard changes from having no freedom to a life with freedom. ''She could see'' symbolize the new life she has and the opportunities she sees. Chopin is illustrating the new life Mrs. Mallard can visualize.
Furthermore, Chopin also illustrates the irony to show her audience women struggles. Mrs. Mallard dying of joy is ironic, sure of the fact that the freedom she once had been now gone has what killed her. ‘’ when doctors came they said she died of heart disease. The joy that kills. Heart disease represents Mrs. Mallard feelings towards her marriage. The world wouldn't be the same without women. Women been through a lot and is still going through a lot.
