3. Plot summary:
Nora Helmer, borrowed a large amount of money so that her husband, Torvald, could convalesce from his illness by taking a trip to Italy, without telling him about the loan or about her working odd jobs because it would hurt is pride and would cause a scandal in society. Torvald thinks of Nora as his property, a child, and sometimes even a doll. When he is given a managerial position at a bank, his first act is to fire Nils Krogstad, the man who lent money to Nora, because he has a bad reputation for forging his signature on documents. During that period, it is revealed that Nora forged the signature of her father in order to pay back the loan , when Krogstad is made aware of this he threatens to expose her crime if Nora cannot influence Torvald to keep his job. The consequences she faces if Krogstad does reveal her is her family being separated; she would not be able to interact with her children, she would be disowned by her husband, and would be a disgrace in society. The more Nora realizes what is at stake the more she tries to influence her husband, but he doesn 't take her seriously because he thinks that Nora is a child that does not understand money or business.
