Social Justice Issues on Feminism In modern society, you hear a lot about the world needs Feminism and that there is not equal representation between the genders. People either are shown the lesser half of Feminism rather than what is shown when fully emerged into. Both women and men can consider themselves to be Feminists but I will be focusing on the female side. Throughout this essay I will tell you about the issues that both others and myself have found when dealing with Feminism, and use articles and experiences of former Feminists in order to convey the issues with Feminism. Let me ask this now, before this essay begins, what are your ideas and standings when you hear the word Feminist? In an article titled ‘Why I Left Feminism (Or, How Feminism Left Me)’, writer Heather Wilhelm writes about seven issues that she finds in Feminism. She breaks each of the topics into individual sections and discusses what she found in each of them, examples being how modern Feminism lies to young girls about sex, terrible advice and opinions in safety, victimizing themselves, and trying to control the thoughts of others. In some self-defense classes, people are taught to never be alone at night, always go for the most painful points, and to be cautious.
