One of the biggest examples of corruption would lie within royalty itself. When Claudius killed Hamlet’s father, he was made king. Someone with moral standards would not perceive personal glory and power over another’s life. Most characters in the play could be considered selfish in the sense that morally, they did not think what was the most truthful answer to the situation, but what benefitted them the most. One person that demonstrates using moral truth but doesn’t necessarily live what he says would be Polonius. In act one scene three, Polonius states a monologue that is full of moral truth such as think before you speak, do not occupy yourself with too much entertainment, and most importantly, be true to yourself. However, Polonius also spies on Hamlet and Queen Gertrude which is not morally truthful. Corruption, combined with the revenge found in Hamlet, make the scene of Denmark perfect for creating an unjust
