“Yet there are problems with this outlook, aside from just feeling disappointed when things don't turn out well” (Burkeman, 1). People too often give up on things that at the time don’t make them happy and they don’t consider the happiness they may receive having stuck it out to perfect that one task or item. In the essay they describe the museum of failed products. They tell how people gave up on these items for an idea of a higher happiness or because while they created it they thought of the happiness it could bring but realized soon after that the happiness they so expected wasn’t what it was made out to be.

We as humans often need to remind ourselves of the negative effects of what could happen when trying to ensure our own happiness is achieved. We have to remind ourselves that we could potentially lose all that we have worked for in giving up. It would be in our interest to adapt to our situations and work harder for our happiness. We often come up with excuses and instead of doing so we should realize that happiness isn’t always feeling good it’s doing what’s right and it’s about doing what will keep you happy long term not just
