Cassius is the leader of the conspiracy group against Julius Caesar. In Julius Caesar the only person who is actually seen convincing people to conspire against Caesar is Cassius. Cassius has a personal vendetta against Caesar. He thinks that if Caesar were to become emperor he would become a tyrant. Cassius assumes Caesar would make his life a personal hell. At the time Brutus is Caesar's best friend. Brutus was one of the most popular people in Rome. He came from a well respected family. His personal to was very stoic and sensitive. Cassius flatter Brutus when he first approaches Brutus. Cassius tells Brutus that Caesar is weak and womanist in battle. Brutus not having any selfish reasons for joining the conspiracy assumes Cassius has none either.
Cassius had everyone in on the conspiracy wrapped around his finger. The man could even get Caesar's best friend to turn against him with the power of persuasion. When asking people to join him he would use a different pitch each time. Everyone he asked was different and so was the way he convinced them to join him. Cassius would use any kind of argument, logical or emotional, to get people to see they way he saw Caesar. Everyone followed Cassius' lead allowing him to successfully assassinate Julius
