What motivates people? Some people are motivated by Altruism. Altruism, as defined by the Oxford Dictionary as, “[the] disinterested and selfless concern for the well being of others.” In essence altruism is charity, doing good things for other people with nor reward in return. It is easy to understand why altruism is a motivating factor for some people, it can make one feel good and make one look good. However some people are motivated by more selfish pursuits, such as voyeurism. A voyeur is, “a person who gains sexual pleasure from watching others when they are naked or engaged in sexual activity.” It is also easy to see why this would be a motivation for people.
