“I’m sorry; but we have no choice but to euthanize.” How would it personally feel to hear those words? Do they get a choice? Euthanasia literally means “good death” and refers to the inducement of a painless death for a chronically ill individual who would otherwise suffer, but can it be controlled or get out of hand? Euthanasia is a powerful way of killing, but some people see the good in it enough to allow it to be legal. Mercy-Killing is another name for euthanasia and by that it means: someone kills a patient without their explicit consent to end the patients suffering. Euthanasia causes tremendous decisions for people to decide if it is good or if it is bad. Euthanasia should be illegal, so people won’t make reckless decisions to their life and people will still have the determination to find a cure or treatment, but be open to some for logical and serious reasons. “…I fear most Americans do not understand what could actually happen if physician-assisted suicide becomes the law of the land” (Boehm). There are seven types of Euthanasia, which include: Active Euthanasia, Passive Euthanasia, Voluntary Euthanasia, Involuntary Euthanasia, Self-administered Euthanasia, other-administered Euthanasia, and assisted Euthanasia (ProCon). They can all be tremendously dangerous and not needed at all. Voluntary Euthanasia is the most known way of Euthanasia.
