The article about chief Justice Robert’s decision I thought I would like but the use of English is quite technical, I find myself having to pause to understand sentences a lot which sometimes truncates the flow of thought even if it helps to understand what is written. It also has a lot on methods which I wish I had a good handle of. While, I believe it is an interesting read overall, it has a lot going on simultaneously at an advanced academic level. It used case study in breaking down the detail of how each Justice decided in a case. At the same time effectively, explaining the process and procedures in the Supreme Court. It also shows how and why the Justices are strategic and may sometimes decide and support a position less stringent than they actually want. This is sometimes for the better good of the people or the possible precedent they may set. Furthermore, it demonstrates the interplay of the Supreme Court and the other branches of government which helps to deepen the understanding of the entire policy process. The book talk about the theory of Justices as “policy seekers” which makes sense in a way but another look at the way the court works makes me not to fully support the theory. Since, the Courts have to wait for cases to be presented to them by the right parties and they have to select out of the multitude of cases they have.
