It is safe to say I have read a few books on eschatology/prophecy (study of the last things). Many describe The Antichrist as a mastermind without differentiating between a mastery that stems from wisdom and understanding, and a “cunning” that proceeds from craftiness and wickedness. They are not the same. The latter is a mastery of foolishness. The Antichrist is anti-Christ. Although in appearances, he may try to imitate him, in reality, he is everything Christ is “not”. Where does wisdom come from, if not from God? James 1:5 says, “If any lack wisdom, let them ask of God.” Where does wisdom start, if not with the fear of the Lord? Psalm 111:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Who is it that personifies wisdom, if not Jesus Christ? Colossians 2:3 says in Christ “are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” If wisdom and knowledge start with the fear the Lord and are personified in His omniscient Son, how can The Antichrist be wise or even intelligent? He cannot. The Antichrist is a fool.
Fools can be clever and crafty as they pursue mastery of certain things such as criminal behavior. However, a wise man does not this a person make. (I flipped the words around in that last sentence to sound smart — an example of craftiness, not wisdom.) As I have said before, a time will come when the Antichrist (Trump) will be possessed by Satan with all access to his craftiness and power.
