The East Asian conception of human nature holds that heaven produces the teeming multitude in a manner that in everything that is produced, there is a principle in its existence. Everything that is produced in heaven has principles for its being. This implies that by the time someone is born, heaven gives him his nature (Bary, 704). Humans can remain pure and clear and have the capability to know all if they do away with obstructions of selfish desires. Zhang Zang said that human should not allow what they hear or see to fetter their minds (Web.cn.edu 1). When penetration is attained through moral principles, there will be understanding like a great release. If human confine their mind to what they hear and see, their understanding will be narrow.
According to Buddhists, the mind is what humans use to control their bodies. Consequently, it implies that if we use our minds to observe external objects, their principles will be apprehended.
According to Confucianism, human nature is a product of heaven and is certainly good. Human goodness implies remaining true to our natures and ensuring that our natures are in equilibrium and harmony with the nature. The way the universe is the way humans should act, and the way humans should act is the way the world is (Bary, 706). Nature reveals its goodness and nature.
