Dwyane Wade is the most famous athlete to be born in Chicago, Illinois, and he has had an astounding NBA and college career. Dwyane Wade was born on January 17, 1987, in Chicago, Illinois. His full name was Dwyane Tryone Wade Jr. After he was born, his parents split apart. His mom took custody of Wade and his 5-year-old sister. The first 8 years of Dwyane's life, he lived with his mother. However, that year his life took a turn when he left to live with his father and his stepmom. When he did this, he got away from the crime and gang violence. “A year later, Wade’s father moved the family to Robbins, Illinois, a south Chicago suburb.
