Dubai’s Sources of Revenue
It is the city that has the highest skyscraper in the world, the biggest mall in the world, and they have the only hotel in the world that is rated as a seven star hotel named Burj Al Arab. It is listed in the top ten cities with most visitors and has an unimaginable amount of oil, it is Dubai. Dubai is one of the 7 cities that make up the country United Arab Emirates, it is located on the Persian Gulf coast. The seven cities in UAE are Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras al Khaimah and Umm Al- Qaiwain. Dubai is one of the most known cities in the world and not only because of the lifestyle it provides for its people or how beautiful it would be to visit it for holidays but also because it has billions of barrels of oil, In fact many people do not know that United Arab Emirates is a country and think that Dubai is the country. It is known that Dubai actually does not really depend on water or farmlands to produce its money since they do not have a lot. I have been a resident in Dubai for the past 16 years and all I can say is that the government tends to charge high rates for providing its people with water and electricity in which the average water and electricity bill for the month is around 600 Canadian dollars. Another way that the government of Dubai gets a lot of money is through cars, trucks and motorcycles fines that were given to each person when they were ignoring the law , for example a simple speeding ticket can reach around 300$…
