CATCHY TITLE Imagine yourself swimming along in the ocean without a care. Your mom, dad, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles all are swimming along beside you. You can taste the salt water hitting your taste buds, and you can feel the warm summer sun penetrate through the water and hit your thick, strong skin. You swim miles and miles all day long with your family, catching fish and talking non stop, and you couldn’t be happier. Then, your whole world is turned upside down. It’s almost as if someone came and stole the sun from your universe. All that is left is darkness. You feel the tight, rigid nets pull and tug so hard on your body you feel like you can’t breathe as you get lifted from the water. You hear your mother screaming like you’ve never heard before, begging for them to give you back. After you get lifted up into the fishing boat, you’re so scared you can’t even move. Once they get you in, they start the boat and take you away from everything you have ever known. It’s that fast. Today and in the past, numerous whales have been taken from their families from a young age, and have been held in captivity to entertain humans. The whales are then bred, and are living under awful circumstances. That is not what a whale is meant for, and it needs to be stopped. Whales are meant to swim freely in the ocean and do as they please. Not be held in a swimming pool for people to poke and prod at.
