Deliberative democracy can only take place when citizens are involved and are communicating their opinion on legislation. Getting citizens to participate and deliberate in deliberative democracy helps to keep the government weak. With citizens participating and voicing their opinions tells the politicians what the people want and it can help stop unwanted legislation from being passed. It is also a smart move for the politician to listen to the wishes of their voters because he or she can be replaced in the next election. In order to get more people involved in deliberative democracy, we need to advance the knowledge in politics and world issues. Also it would help if more citizens attended city hall meeting and listened to what was is being said at these meetings. Along with having more citizens going to city hall meetings, the meeting themselves have to be structured in a way that citizens can go and participate. Sometimes it is hard to participate and to be involved with deliberation, but if we could find out a way to get more people involved, we could have an effective deliberative model of
