Consequently, keeping in mind our main topic, in this thesis we need to analyse the political - cultural background in which these interpretations arose (that meens from the 18th century onwards with peaks in 19th and early 20th centuries) and the historical-political similarities between Dante's time and our interpreters' centuries, trying to provide significant answers to the following questions:
To what extent Dante's political experience influenced his own works?
To what extent the various features spread by Dante in both, his philosophical and political treaties (Convivio and De Monarchia) allowed Dante's thought to have a cultural life protracted for a so long time?
