Therefore, the peaceful whooshing created by Greenhouse’s use of consonance creates a pleasant scene, which would ultimately fade away as the poem progresses. This is similar to how someone who looks back to better times when life was pleasant and how as time passes an their mood can shift to a more dark attitude. Perpetuating the imagery of the poem also is Greenhouse’s use of a metaphor. Teen suicides are profoundly present in high schools across the country and policy-makers are frantically trying to curb such trends. In many cases, teen suicide can stem from cyber-bullying where media forms provide a tool to enable individuals to hide behind a screen and create an alternate persona. Many teens that are bullied feel as if they have nowhere to turn and either create many false identities to try to be “more normal”, or theses individuals struggle to develop a sense of identity at all. Therefore, conceivably poetry that exhibits a similar sense of loss of identity and hopelessness can aid these individuals and perhaps curb teen
