One of the great things about being a creative mind is having a voice. Those creative minds who use that voice and audience to help an important cause are making the most of their platform and ability. This is the case with James Brown and Bill Irving's A Short Film About Chasing Hope. They lend their collective voice and ability in filmmaking to spotlight the importance of the ongoing refugee crisis.

And then we start to see the devastation left behind by a capsized boat of refugees. It is common knowledge, if you follow the news, that capsized boats transporting refugees are very common as smugglers will often fill the boats to beyond capacity, taking as much money as they can from these poor souls just trying to find a better life. And the refugees, they know the risk, but that risk offers a better outcome than what waits for them in their home countries. That image stays for a few seconds as the facts are shown offering another powerful message by the filmmakers. That final image is left there intentionally, it is supposed to make you uncomfortable and sad. It is supposed to make you mad. It is there to make you want to help and make you want to do something for these people, even if just a vote allowing them entry to your country or an appeal to a representative.
