Did you know cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the world today? There are many different types of cancers that affect different parts of the body. Although some cancers can be cured as well as some are not. Those who may have had cancer affect their family may take it more seriously. Cancer is the most terrible thing. Three years ago in quiet Hartford, South Dakota sitting inside the warm living room, we got the news. The late afternoon sun may have been great, but the fear and tremendous sadness was not. That night turned into a rainy stormy night as we were feeling. The living room become cold where four of us sat. You could hear the deep breathes, crying, and sniffling. This is the worst news anyone of us could’ve imagined. Believing that it would never happened to my family, but discovering that it really was, was terrifying. Being told this, my brother and I didn’t think it was true. But we thought to ourselves and said, “Why would mom and dad joke about this?” We didn’t want to believe anyone. The family was devastated. We all kept asking, why us? Why couldn’t it have been someone else? After hearing this, we took action very quickly. My grandma Janice was short, wrinkly, grey haired as well as being the most wonderful grandmother to not only me but three other grandchildren. Once she was diagnosed my family and the dogs all went up to busy down town Des Moines, Iowa. That’s where she was staying for chemo and radiation. Finding out we needed to take…
