A lot of kids got to know what bipolar disorder because their favorite celebrity told the world that they are suffering from bipolar disorder and I know that because my favorite celebrity demi Lovato has bipolar disorder. About 5.7 million American adults, or about 2.6 percent of the population age 18 and older in any given year have bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder typically develops in late adolescence or early adulthood. Bipolar disorder effects both men and women the same way. Men and women have an equal chance of getting bipolar disorder. Men’s more likely experience first manic episode and while women more likely experience depressive first. Children experience cyclothymic is less extreme then bipolar disorder. However, some people have their first symptoms during childhood, and some develop them late in life. Bipolar disorder is often not recognized as an illness, and people may suffer for years before they get proper diagnosed and treatment. Bipolar disorder is a long-term illness that requires careful management throughout the person 's life. There are many people in this world that doesn’t even know they have bipolar disorder and they have no idea it can harm them for long period of time. Symptoms of bipolar disorder is really hard to identify for children’s and teens. Right now, there is no cure for bipolar disorder.
