It took me a long time to realize once you confess your sins, god will forgive you. Also, it crazy how everything ties together. Today in chapel, Michael Spencer talked about abortion and how god can forgive the people who have sinned and killed innocent lives. In chapter 3 when Augustine is talking about living with "The Wreckers" and how they were extremely rude people. It made me think a movie called Mean Girls. There were 3 girls and they thought they were better than ever body else and they said really nasty things to other people in their school. Even when I was in high school there was always that one group of friends that were extremely rude to everyone else. I thought it was kind of confusing when the Bishop speaks to Augustine's mother and tells her he was once a Manichee. Like any teenager Augustine causes his mother a lot of grief. When I was in high school I remember numerous of times when I would make mother and my father worry. I think it's just a part of being a teenager, making your parents lives miserable. I never caught in the book how Augustine's father passed away. In the beginning of book three how Augustine talks about his love for plays and how he preferred to watch tragedy's, made me think about how a lot of girls like to watch love story movies. Girls watch love story movies for the sadness and endings. When Augustine talks about how he struggled to understand scripture and could not find the deeper meaning, I felt he didn't try to find the deeper meaning, he just gave up.
