This person's name was Audie Murphy who also wrote an autobiography about himself titled To Hell and Back. This soldier inspires me for many reasons. He enlisted under the age of 18, which is and was illegal, and left the military being the most decorated soldier of World War II. Audie Murphy was born to poor sharecroppers named Emmett Berry Murphy and Josie Bell Killian. He was the seventh out of twelve children these Irish immigrants had. He was born in Kingston Texas on June 20, 1925. Murphy did not get along with people and had violent tendencies at an early age. Although he was born in Kingston, his family moved around in Texas. They went from Kingston to Farmersville, then to Greenville, and Celeste were he attended elementary school. Soon after, his father slowly started to detach himself from his family. He started from nothing, went to less than nothing and then became the hero of World War II. Post war he suffered from PTSD and he even helped others with the disorder and was discharged because he was more than fifty percent disabled. He later died on May 28, 1971 because of a plane
