Pablo Picasso was one of the greatest and most influential artist of the 20th century. In this essay I will be comparing Picasso’s styles of Art with disciplines of Philosophy. Art is be defined by Webster’s Dictionary as “works created by artists: paintings, sculptures, etc., that are created to be beautiful or to express important ideas or feelings”. Philosophy is defined by Webster’s dictionary as “the study of ideas about knowledge, truth, the nature and meaning of life”
The First born child to his parents Picasso was born on October 25, 1881 in Malaga Spain. There is no question that Picasso inherited some of his artistic talent from his father, who was a professor at the school of fine arts. Picasso’s father began teaching him how to paint from a young age. It didn’t take long for Picasso’s artistic talent to far surpass that of his fathers. At the young age of 14, Picasso was accepted to the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, Spain, a prestigious school that typically accepted students much older than him. Picasso found his classes to be unchallenging, and soon began skipping class to sketch scenes of the city. After attending several other art schools, Picasso moved to Paris, France. Which he found to be the ideal place to experiment and practice new styles of art. These styles of art included the Rose Period, the African Influenced Style of Art, and his most popular art style Cubism.
