Genghis Khan's upbringing in the nomadic lifestyle of the Mongolian steppes allowed him to develop a unique perspective on warfare and leadership. As a young man, he honed his skills in navigating the complex social dynamics of nomadic tribes. Through a series of military campaigns, Genghis Khan demonstrated his ability to unite several tribes under his command, forming a powerful military. His leadership and military strategies enabled him to establish a flourishing empire that greatly affected the Afro Eurasian time period through an increase in the flow of trade, spread of tolerance, and conquest/destruction.

Religion played a significant role in Mongolian culture because the Mongolians were able to believe in whatever they wanted. From the point of view of Fr. John, a Catholic priest, he talks about how tolerant the Mongols are when he personally visited the Mongols. What's more, he was able to confidently say that the Mongols were religiously tolerant, coming from a Christian priest. This makes it all the more believable since Fr. John isn’t Mongolian (an outsider) and on top of that is Christian (Doc 2). Not only does one person who isn’t from Mongolia say that the Mongols are tolerant, but Juvaini, a governor, also speaks quite positively about the Mongols and their tolerance towards Islam, given that he is employed by them (Doc 4). In conclusion, while the economy undoubtedly left its mark on Afro Eurasia during the period of 1200-1450 C.E., there were also significant cultural influences, particularly the religious tolerance shown by the Mongols, that truly defined this era of history.

Despite the significant impact already seen in Afro Eurasia, conquest and destruction played a major role in this change.
