She was the queen of England during the time when King Henry VIII broke with the Catholic Church formed the Church of England. She was known to be one of the most influential Queens of England and her death remains to this day, one of the greatest mysteries during the reign of King Henry VIII. Also on the same day, Queen took part any heated debate with Henry Norris, during which she referenced the king’s death and other taboo subjects. That debate most likely was a large factor in her downfall. It was used as evidence against her in her trial. On April 30, Mark Smeaton was taken into questioning by Cromwell at the latter’s home. The next Mark Smeaton was moved to the Tower and King Henry questioned Henry Norris regarding his relationship with Queen Anne. At this point, it was only a matter of time before the divorce. On the next day, May 2nd, Mark Smeaton confessed to adultery with the queen. It is to be noted that this confession was made under torture. Also on the same day, Anne Boleyn and her brother George were arrested. On the 4th of May, several nobles were arrested being charged with treason conspiracy do with relations with Queen Anne. A grand jury was summoned on the 9th of May. The next day, all the nobles tried with the exception Thomas Wyatt and Richard page were indicted for treason.
